NEW PHILADELPHIA -- OSU Extension will be offering a food safety training opportunity in April to assist individuals in meeting Ohio Department of Health Level 2 certification standards.

The National Restaurant Association's manager training course will be offered on April 24, 25, and 26 from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities on Commercial Avenue in New Philadelphia.

Testing will be April 26 from 1 until 3 p.m.

ServSafe Manager training meets Ohio Department of Health Level 2 certification standards as it provides food service managers, operators, and owners with accurate, up-to-date information on all aspects of handling food, from receiving and storing to preparing and serving. The principles learned in this course can easily be applied and practiced by all food service workers.

The program cost is $135 per person for Tuscarawas County residents and those working within the county, $150 for non-county residents.
