CAMBRIDGE -- Visitor restrictions at Southeastern Med have been lifted due to the decline in influenza cases.

Visitors under 18 will now be permitted in the hospital. However, the flu season is not over, and precautions should still be taken to limit the spread of germs.

The best ways to protect against the flu are washing hands frequently, covering a cough and staying home when sick.

Those of any age who are experiencing symptoms and signs of an illness should refrain from visiting individuals in the hospital.

Southeastern Med encourages all visitors to wash their hands or use the hand sanitizer, located at all facility entrances, elevators and patient rooms, before and after a visit.
