COSHOCTON -- Authorities have charged 23-year-old Coshocton County resident Vincent Moore with murder in connection with the stabbing death of Matthew Gadfield, 18, Coshocton, early Sunday morning (April 7) at the Cedar Street Inn.

Moore remained incarcerated in Coshocton County on a $750,000 bond.

Gadfield was pronounced dead at Coshocton Memorial Hospital following the stabbing incident at approximately 12:15 a.m. Sunday. He was reportedly stabbed in the chest area.

The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office received multiple 911 calls reporting the incident. The stabbing reportedly occurred during an altercation outside the business.

Individuals at the scene performed CPR in an attempt to save Gadfield.

Moore was apprehended at the scene and the alleged murder weapon was recovered from a vehicle in which he sitting when sheriff's deputies arrived.

Moore allegedly admitted to the stabbing while being interviewed by authorities.

No motive for the altercation or stabbing has been released by authorities.

Gadfield was reportedly enrolled at Coshocton High School as a senior and was a member of the Redskins' wrestling team.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation is assisting the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office with the investigation.
