Speaker gives talk at genealogical society

DENNISON -- The Tuscarawas County Genealogical Society met April 1 with guest speaker Monte Hall, speaking on his recently published book, "190 Letters: A Soldier's Story of World War II." The book is a compilation of letters his father wrote home while serving in the South Pacific during the war. Members were then able to purchase the book.

Jon Baker conducted the business meeting with reports being given and discussions held.

Emma McMannamy announced that 18 books were sold in March. The next meeting will be May 6 with someone from the Holmes County Genealogy Society speaking about the new library location and holdings.Library hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. They will no longer have Thursday evening hours. Refreshments were served by Emma and Faith McMannamy.
