WEST LAFAYETTE -- Due to the upcoming Memorial Day holiday, West Lafayette Village Council will have its regular council sessions on May 13 and May 20 with both days at the regular time of 7 p.m. The council sessions will return to the regular dates (second and fourth Monday) starting again in June.
Other business discussed at the April 8 and April 22 regular sessions included:
Village Administrator Dave Kadri said the wastewater department had a recent audit completed and several findings were identified. He said the department is working on a plan to improve or correct the findings.
Mayor Jack Patterson will attend Mayor's Conference in Canton on June 5-8.
Street sweeping has started in the village. Residents are being asked to start spring cleaning of their yards, discarding debris that collected from this past winter.
Village council entered into executive session during the April 22 regular session to discuss pending litigation. No action to be taken at this time.
Council approved a resolution during the April 8 session for refinancing the USDA Loan and Debt Consolidation from Lafayette Meadows sewer line extension. This will decrease the loan time period and save the village money by paying the loan earlier.
