Genealogical society discusses obit books
DENNISON -- The May 6 meeting of the Tuscarawas County Genealogical Society was conducted by Vice President Irene Walter.
Committee reports were given.
It was announced that the 2012 obit books were printed and ready for the bindery.
Peggy Brown presented the certificate the society received from the Ohio Genealogical Society at the convention in Cincinnati. It honors us for being the oldest chapter. They were organized 45 years ago.
The guest speaker was Cheryl Abernathy from the Holmes County Genealogy Library, and she talked about their new location and what they have available for research.
Refreshments were served by Christy Walker and Carol Sliffe.
The next meeting will be the June 3 annual picnic at the Midvale Park Pavilion at 6 p.m. The ham and beverages are furnished, and those attending are ask to bring a covered dish and table service.
