Special music schedule announced

The Newcomerstown St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church Worship and Music Committee are announcing the special music schedule for the remainder of the summer. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. Bring a friend! The special music will be presented during the regular worship time, 10:30 a.m. to noon.

The following is the schedule:

Aug. 18: Linda Rice, organist at Sugarcreek United Church of Christ.

Aug. 25: Bob McClure, and two other pending guests (to be announced).

Sept. 1: Steve Barker and Nicole Barker Cole.

Sept. 15: Murphy Sisters.

Sept. 22: Erleen Long.

Sept. 29: Faithful Four.

Community dinner planned

Journey's End Ministries in Newcomerstown will have its August Community Dinner on Thursday, Aug. 15 from 6 to 7 p.m.

The meal will be provided by the Calvary Methodist Church.

'Women for Jesus' has formed

The first chapter of "Women for Jesus" has been formed by the Ladies of the Calvary, Everals and King's United Methodist churches.

The first session was held at the Calvary Church with Shirley Kirkpatrick named chairperson; Megan Miller, secretary; and Debbie Bush, treasurer.

Various committees are being formed.

The purpose of the new group is fellowship and making a difference in the churches and the communities.

If this is a group you would be interested in, the next meeting is Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m. in Calvary's Fellowship Hall, Newcomerstown.

New Bible study planned

Beth Moore Bible Study: James: Mercy Triumphs will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at Christ United Methodist Church, 648 Oak St., Newcomerstown.

The class will meet weekly at 7 p.m. in the Wesley Auditorium.
