NEW PHILADELPHIA -- Luanne "Lu" Lusic of Dover has traveled much of the United States and visited twenty one countries in Europe, Central America, and the Caribbean; now she will visit the Tuscarawas County Writers' Guild at 7 p.m. on Aug. 21 to speak about her book "Hostel by the Sea: Living, Loving, & Working in an American Hostel."

The book is based on her life during the summer of 2008 when in need of cheap lodging while she looks for work, Lusic makes a reservation at a hostel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for a week and ends up staying there for eight months. At the hostel, she falls madly in love with a man from Belize who is a devout Christian, befriends the hostel manager who offers her a job, and rooms with university students from all over the world.

Her book is available through Amazon.com as a paperback book or an e-book. She is currently in the process of adapting her book into a screenplay.

The TCWG meets at the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts in New Philadelphia. The public is invited to attend; meetings are free and refreshments will be served.
