CAMBRIDGE -- Southeastern Med will host a community open house for the Cambridge Regional Cancer Center on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the building and learn about the new technology and services offered at the cancer center. Physicians and staff members from the Cambridge Regional Cancer Center will be on hand to answer questions. Visitors will also receive free refreshments and a gift for attending.

Southeastern Med's Tina Kiser Cancer Concern Coalition will provide colon and breast health education at the event by displaying their inflatable colon and breast torso replicas. While walking through these unique and interactive exhibits, visitors will be able to view healthy colon tissue, colorectal polyps, and various stages of colorectal cancer, as well as healthy breast tissue, benign lumps, malignant lumps and metastatic disease.

The purchase of the Cambridge Regional Cancer Center allowed Southeastern Med to provide comprehensive cancer care close to home for Guernsey and Noble County residents. Southeastern Med and the cancer center offer a range of services to treat the whole person -- not just the disease, including advanced hematology and medical oncology services, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, nutrition counseling, palliative care and support groups.
