Bicentennial car show, hog roast
The Newcomerstown Bicentennial car show and hog roast is set for Sunday, Sept. 15 at Newcomerstown High School, 659 Beaver St., Newcomerstown. Registration is from 1 to 3 p.m. with awards presented at 5 p.m. Registration cost is $10 with dash plaques given to the first 50. The show will be held rain or shine. Awards will be given to the top 25 and three top motorcycles. Hog roast dinners will be available from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets are available from any Newcomerstown Bicentennial Committee member, Baker's IGA or call 498-4545. Dinner includes roast pork, two sides and a roll. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children (ages 12 and under). Pit Stop Creamery will be on site with ice cream, chicken sandwiches and more. All proceeds to benefit the 2014 bicentennial events.
The Newcomerstown Alumni Volleyball game, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 14, has been canceled due to lack of participation.
Free breakfast set
The Newcomerstown Bicentennial Committee is sponsoring a breakfast and it is not a fundraiser. They want to update the local businesses on the 2014 schedule of events and how they hope you will participate.
The breakfast is set for Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Olde Main Street Museum and Social Center, Newcomerstown. Baker's IGA will be providing the meal which will include scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon and fruit.

The next Newcomerstown Bicentennial Committee meeting will be Saturday, Sept. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon at Newcomerstown High School.

Farmers market set
GNADENHUTTEN -- A farmers market will take place every Saturday at the Town Hall Square in Gnadenhutten from 8 a.m. to noon through the last Saturday in September. There will be fresh produce, baked goods, eggs, honey, maple syrup, beef, sausage, jams and jellies, flowers, Avon, handmade crafts and more.
A Kurz-Kasch retirement luncheon will be Sept. 11 at 11:30 a.m. at April's Country Kitch'n in Newcomerstown.
Business women banquet
COSHOCTON -- Coshocton Business and Professional Women will be celebrating 80 years of BPW working to achieve equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information.
They will be celebrating on Sunday, Sept. 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Frontier Power Community Room, 770 S. 2nd St., Coshocton.

Women's Health Days set
DOVER -- Women's Health Days are set for Monday, Oct. 21 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 24 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Tuscarawas County Health Department, 897 E. Iron Ave., Dover.
The health check is for women 30 years and older, and is open to all residents of this area.
The special examination price is $40 and includes a Pap smear, breast exam, height and weight check, Hemoccult and blood pressure check.

UHRICHSVILLE -- The Uhrichsville Business Association will have it second annual fall craft show in the downtown area on Saturday, Oct. 12. Adult grief support group
COSHOCTON -- A weekly adult grief support group meets every other Friday at 11 a.m. in the Health Services and Hospice of Coshocton, 230 S. 4th St., Coshocton. The next meeting is set for July 5.

Christ's Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, serves dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m. every Monday. The dining room is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off
Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.
