A Blue Star Banner ceremony, honoring Private James Austin Trzop, U.S. Marine Corps, was conducted at the American Legion Post 431. Private Trzop is a 2013 graduate of Newcomerstown High School and completed Marine Basic Training at Parris Island, S.C. He is assigned as a Supply Administrative Specialist and will be attending the Platoon Leaders Course. In January, he will be attending The Ohio State University studying engineering. His ultimate goal is to become a pilot. He is the son of Janet L. McDonnell and James M. Trzop, and the grandson of Ellen and Jim McDonnell, all of Newcomerstown, and the late Virginia and James H. Trzop of Maine. He has two brothers who have served in the U.S. Army, Curt Judy and James K. Trzop. Blue Star Banners were presented to his mother and father.
