Restricted leaf pickup
The Village of Newcomerstown will not be picking up leaves like they have in year's past. The village does not have the resources to complete this task.
Instead, they ask residents to mulch leaves or they will pick up bagged leaves that are placed at the curb. The village employees will make trips around town looking for the bags placed on the curbstrip.
12 Days of Holiday Magic raffle
The Cy Young Days Festival Committee is once again selling 12 Days of Holiday Magic raffle tickets.
Drawings will be Dec. 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21. There are 12 chances to win.
Prizes range from $50 gifts or gift certificates to the grand prize totaling over $500.
Tickets are $5 each, three tickets for $10 or seven tickets for $20.
Proceeds benefit the Cy Young Days Festival.

Chicken dinner benefit
A chicken dinner/square dance benefit for JoAnn Boyd is planned for Friday, Nov. 15 at the David Barber Civic Center, Newcomerstown.
Dinner is from 5 to 7 p.m. and dancing is from 7 to 10 p.m.
Tickets are $10 (includes the dance) and kids' meals are also available for $5. Tickets are available at Baker's IGA in Newcomerstown.
The Hand Picked Band will be performing. If you would like to come to just the dance, admission is by donations only.
A silent auction and bake sale are also planned.
No alcohol is permitted.
Biddy wrestling meeting
There will be a Newcomerstown Biddy Wrestling meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 13 for anyone interested in signing up for biddy wresting.
The meeting will take place in the high school cafeteria at 7 p.m.
The Newcomerstown Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Newcomerstown Chamber of Commerce, will be Saturday, Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. Line-up starts at 4 p.m. at Cy Young Park, Newcomerstown.
Santa will be in the East Elementary School, immediately following the parade. There will be treats and refreshments.

KIMBOLTON -- Breakfast will be served at the Kimbolton United Methodist Church on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 8 to 11 a.m.
The menu includes bacon, sausage patties, eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits, toast, pancakes, juice, coffee, fruit and sweets.
Cost is by donation.
Blood drive set
St. Paul's Lutheran Church is hosting the Newcomerstown community blood drive for the American Red Cross at 121 S. College St., Newcomerstown, on Wednesday, Nov. 27 from 1 to 6 p.m.

Craft show planned
Newcomerstown Senior Center's first ever Fall Gala Craft Show will be Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the center, 222 S. Bridge St., Newcomerstown.
The center will sponsor a bake sale and lunch stand.

Holiday market set
Newcomerstown Library will be having its annual Thanksgiving holiday market on Wednesday, Nov. 27 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
There are still a few spaces left for vendors.

Retirement dinner set
Kurz Kasch will be a retirement dinner on Nov. 13 at 11:30 a.m. at April's Country Kitch'n in Newcomerstown.
Blood drive set
GNADENHUTTEN -- Indian Valley FFA will be having its blood drive on Nov. 20 at the high school. Those donating must be 16 years old and it is open to the community.
A Cardboard City to promote what its like to be without things that we have will be Nov. 15-Nov. 16 at Tractor Supply in New Philadelphia.
Adult grief support group
COSHOCTON -- A weekly adult grief support group meets every other Friday at 11 a.m. in the Health Services and Hospice of Coshocton, 230 S. 4th St., Coshocton. The next meeting is set for July 5.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off
Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.
