Fall and First Families Banquet takes place

DENNISON -- The annual Fall and First Families Banquet took place in the Park Christian Church in Dennison. Twenty-four members and guests were present.

Jon Baker, president, welcomed everyone and vice president Irene Walter gave the invocation. A meal of baked chicken and Swiss steak with all the trimmings were enjoyed by all on a beautiful fall evening.

Baker announced the new first family members. Sherry Dearth, who was unable to attend, was no. 176. In attendance was Conner James McMannamy, no.175, who will turn 1-year old on Nov. 26. He is the son of Jerry McMannamy Jr. and grandson of Emma and Jerry McMannamy Sr. Conner is the youngest person to join the society.

Door prizes were won by Jim Hinds, Christy Walker, Peggy Brown, Alan Deibel, Doretta Seese and Gary Sliffe. Election of officers will be Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the library at Dennison. The executive meeting will be at 6 p.m. The library will be closed for Christmas from Dec. 23 until Jan. 2.
