Semester Exams

Semester Exams will be Thursday, Dec. 19 and Friday, Dec. 20. Periods 1, 3, 7, and 9 will be tested on the 19th, and periods 2, 4, 5/6, and 8 will be tested on Dec. 20.

Guest speaker

On Wednesday, Dec. 18, Mrs. Amanda Miller, who is an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Tuscarawas county, will be speaking to our students about internet and cell phone safety. In the age of social media, it is increasingly important that we educate our students on the proper and safe way to use the communication tools that they have readily available at their fingertips.

Unfavorable posts and pictures that students put on the internet may create a negative "digital footprint" that can adversely impact an individual's reputation and character. Attorney Miller wants to take a proactive approach to ensure that Newcomerstown students are leaving a positive "digital footprint."

Winter Weather

So far, Newcomerstown Schools has used up our allotted five calamity days allowed by the state. Any more days that would happen to be missed due to weather will have to be made up. Consequently, any make-up days will be scheduled for the first week in June.

We ask that families please keep this in mind when scheduling summer trips and vacations, and we ask you to please be aware of the fact that school may still be in session in early June.

The worst winter months are still ahead of us, and there is a strong possibility that there will be more days missed due to weather. As calamity days occur, we will continue to utilize the phone calling system and the text messaging system Remind 101 to notify you of event cancellations and postponements.
