WEST LAFAYETTE -- The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office has three people in custody after an attempted burglary late Sunday night (Dec. 15) at a local carry-out.

The sheriff's office reported receiving a call of a burglary in progress at 11:13 p.m. at the 751 Carry Out in West Lafayette.

A West Lafayette police officer arrived and observed a vehicle leaving the area. The officer attempted to make a traffic stop.

Reportedly, a high-speed chase ensued. Officials from the sheriff's office and the West Lafayette Police Department eventually deployed stop sticks and got the vehicle to stop near County Road 5. There were no injuries.

Robert E. Berg, 45, of Cambridge, was arrested and charged with failure to comply with a lawful order or signal of police, a third-degree felony. Kinsay R. Heibel, 19, of Coshocton, and Paulette V. Winland, 44, of Cambridge, were arrested and charged with breaking and entering, fifth-degree felonies.

The sheriff's office is continuing to investigate.
