Public meeting

A public meeting is set for Saturday, Dec. 28 at 10 a.m. at the David Barber Civic Center in Newcomerstown to discuss a tax levy on the primary election ballot for Newcomerstown village residents.

The purpose for the meeting is to get public input on what they would like for the village to do to support the cemetery and park, according to Newcomerstown Mayor Jim Friel.

The public is encouraged to attend.

TOPS meets on Tuesdays

TOPS, Taking Off Pounds Sensibly, Chapter 2227, in Newcomerstown, has meetings each Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the lobby of Christ United Methodist Church, Newcomerstown.

COSHOCTON -- A weekly adult grief support group meets every other Friday at 11 a.m. in the Health Services and Hospice of Coshocton, 230 S. 4th St., Coshocton.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off

Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.

Church to have cookie, candy sale

ISLETA -- Isleta United Methodist Church will have its eighth annual Christmas Cookie and Candy sale in the church basement on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 8 a.m. to noon.

There will be hundreds of delicious holiday cookies and candies to choose from, and you can make up your own assortment of favorites.

Price is $6 per pound.

The church is located at 58608 County Road 9, Newcomerstown.
