Board to meet

The re-organizational meeting for the Newcomerstown Board of Public Affairs will be Monday, Jan. 13 at 4 p.m. in the blue room of the water department with a regular Board of Public Affairs meeting to follow.

The meetings are open to the public.

One-on-one

computer

training

A new year is bringing a chance to learn new skills at Newcomerstown Public Library starting Jan. 3.

Fridays will be one-on-one beginner computer training with library staff Matt or Cody.

You will be able to schedule a half hour or one hour session between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to learn basic computing, surfing Internet, e-mail, and Microsoft Word.

TOPS meets on Tuesdays

TOPS, Taking Off Pounds Sensibly, Chapter 2227, in Newcomerstown, has meetings each Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the lobby of Christ United Methodist Church, Newcomerstown.

The organizational meeting of the Newcomerstown Public Library's board will be Monday, Dec. 30 at 6 p.m. in the Library Annex, 123 Main St., Newcomerstown.

Adult grief support group

COSHOCTON -- A weekly adult grief support group meets every other Friday at 11 a.m. in the Health Services and Hospice of Coshocton, 230 S. 4th St., Coshocton. The next meeting is set for July 5.

Christ's Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, serves dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m. every Monday. The dining room is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

The meal is free but donations are accepted.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off

Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.

Church to have cookie, candy sale

ISLETA -- Isleta United Methodist Church will have its eighth annual Christmas Cookie and Candy sale in the church basement on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 8 a.m. to noon.

There will be hundreds of delicious holiday cookies and candies to choose from, and you can make up your own assortment of favorites.

Price is $6 per pound.
