NEW PHILADELPHIA -- Tickets are now on sale for the 15th annual Union Hospital Auxiliary Chocolate Love A'fair which will take place Feb. 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Buckeye Career Center in New Philadelphia.

Tickets are $12 and can be purchased in the Union Hospital Corner Shop gift shop or at New Philadelphia Buehler's or Parkside Buehler's in Dover. All proceeds are used to purchase patient care equipment and improve facilities at Union Hospital of Dover.

Guests will have the opportunity to sample dozens of desserts created for the event by area chefs, bakers and chocolatiers. Gift baskets, gift certificates, desserts and other items donated by local restaurants and businesses will be auctioned off during the afternoon. Attendees will also have the opportunity to vote on their favorite chocolate dessert in the "People's Choice Award" while local celebrity judges will be on hand to select the 2014 "Judge's Choice Award" recipient.

"After 15 years of involvement with the Chocolate Love A'fair, I'm still amazed by the creativity that goes into the flavor combinations and presentation of the samples offered by our presenters," said event chair Lynn Ballantyne of Dover. "We have many long-time favorites who have been with the Chocolate Love A'fair from the beginning and have also enjoyed the opportunity to introduce new bakeries and businesses to the community over the years," she said.

According to Ballantyne, last year's Chocolate Love A'fair tickets sold out soon after going on sale.

"We have guests that return year after year because they love the chocolate and the fun atmosphere this event offers," she said. "She also stated that every ticket holder is assured of getting a sample from each chocolate exhibitor. "Whether you come at one, two, or three o'clock, you will not miss out on any samples."

The Union Hospital Auxiliary hosts several events throughout the year as fundraisers for Union Hospital, which is a not-for-profit organization.
