The Newcomerstown Bicentennial celebration will include an art contest.

Those entering pieces are to bring their items to the Union Hall, corner of Main and River streets, Newcomerstown, on Feb. 27 or Feb. 28 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Artwork will be on display March 1 through March 2 from noon to 5 p.m. Pick-up is March 2 after 5 p.m.

Format includes: Drawings, pencil, charcoal, painting, marker, crayon, computer-generated design, mounted, matted or framed.

Special categories exempt from entry fee. All others are $3 per entry. Prizes and ribbons will be awarded. Art for ages 4-12 need not be mounted, matted or framed.

Any age categories include: Newcomerstown/past/present/future, Woody Hayes/Cy Young/sports, people/places/things (not Newcomerstown), and open/abstract.

Special categories include: Age 4-7, my house-my hometown; age 8-12, my friends/our activities; and age 13 to senior in high school, my style/my future.
