COSHOCTON -- Coshocton County authorities continued to search for the individual responsible for shooting a man Saturday morning (March 1) at a home on County Road 410 in the eastern portion of the county following an altercation in Newcomerstown.

The victim, whose identity had not been released, was transported by private vehicle to Coshocton Memorial Hospital for treatment. His condition was not known as of press time.

According to reports, the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at approximately 2:45 a.m. Saturday reporting a disturbance at the County Road 410 residence. The caller reported an argument occurred and gunshots were fired.

Two vehicles were observed fleeing the residence, but witnesses could not obtain a description of the vehicles.

On arrival, deputies reportedly found evidence of an altercation but the victim and any suspect(s) had left the area. Reports did not indicate if deputies found any firearms at the scene.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., a caller at the Coshocton hospital reported a male was in the emergency department being treated for a gunshot wound.

Deputies reportedly responded to the hospital but were unable to talk to the alleged victim.

The victim is reportedly a Coshocton resident.
