DOVER -- The Dover Public Library will host a family-friendly St. Patrick's Day event on Saturday, March 15.

Members of the public are invited to explore the library and to participate in a variety of activities. Library patrons can enter to win a gift basket at each checkout desk. Marlena Allen will present a program about Irish tea at 10 a.m.

Children ages 2-5 and parents are invited to join Children's Librarian Pat Rombach at 10 a.m. for a program entitled "Leprechauns and Shamrocks." At noon, the entire family is invited for a free Brown Bag Lunch showing of the 1959 St. Patty's Day classic, "Darby O'Gill and the Little People," starring Sean Connery and Janet Munro. At 2 p.m. the Akron Ceili Band will perform. The Akron Ceili Band is a group of musicians from Northeast Ohio that perform the traditional tunes of Ireland, often times with a mixture of traditional and non-traditional instruments. At 3 p.m., the library's Lego Club (ages 5-12) will meet to create their own St. Patty's Day creations.
