Buckeye Career Center students were busy over the weekend using their skills and winning awards. The district FFA Career Development Event was hosted by BCC and held in Zanesville Friday, March 10. Twenty-three students competed in the team and individual competitions. Meanwhile, the Early Childhood Education students also competed in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America competition, also collecting a number of honors.

FFA CDE Results: Buckeye Career Center's Nature interpretation and Wildlife teams both claimed 1st place. In Nature Interpretation, the rankings were as followed: 1st Allison Morrison, 3rd Tucker Fostor, 4th Katlyn King, 7th Ashley Smitley, 9th Rett Kleski, 11th Paige Cutshall, and 35th Judd Maurer. The Wildlife team placers included: 1st Ty Flickinger, 2nd Allison Morrison, 4th Kodi Deluca, 5th Tucker Fostor, 23rd Mason Milburn, 24th Will Page, and 36th Ashley Smitley. The following Buckeye Career Center students also placed in the various competitions: Dairy Cattle: McKenzie Wiies and Henry Wellman, Equine Management: Meghan Fuhrer, Alexis Rauch, Hannah Martin, John Pankuch, and General Livestock: Casi Bell.

FCCLA Results: Hali Mehok - silver in Curriculum Unit Development, Brooklyn Barker - silver in Early Childhood Education, Jasmine Raach - silver in Entrepreneurship, Emma Brode & Kelsey Brown - silver in Life Event Planning, Jazmine Garabrandt - gold in Language & Literacy Development, Samantha Risley - gold in Specific Task Assessment, Sarah Smith - gold in Teach and Train.
