About 280 Soldiers from the Ohio National Guard's 371st Sustainment Brigade, headquartered in Springfield, are deploying overseas in support of operations in Southwest Asia. The public is invited to the Soldiers' call to duty ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at Wittenberg University, in the HPER Center, 250 Bill Edwards Drive, Springfield, Ohio 45501. Before deploying to their overseas duty location, the Soldiers will undergo mobilization training at Fort Hood, Texas. The unit will then deploy for a limited duration to conduct sustainment operations in support of security cooperation, joint exercises and training in the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility. The unit has previously deployed three times since the beginning of the War on Terrorism.
