Downtown Coshocton, Ohio will come alive with activity at 5:00 p.m. on May 5th as Our Town Coshocton and the Pomerene Center for the Arts kick off 2017 First Friday Celebrations with a new art-themed event, "Chalk and Roll".

A sidewalk chalk art contest is planned in the artPARK located across from the Courthouse on Main Street. Professional chalk artists from the Columbus Chalk Art Guild, area art students and individuals will compete for prizes in several categories. There is no fee to enter, but pre-registration is required. However, tickets will be sold for a nominal fee for spectators to vote for their favorite artist.

A decorated bicycle parade for kids of all ages will proceed down Main Street at 5:30 p.m. Bikers are encouraged to "bling their bike" and meet at 724 Walnut St at 5:00 p.m. No registration is required to participate.

Other activities planned for all First Friday events include the Kyle Libby State Farm Insurance Cruise-In Car Show, 50/50 drawing, kids games, live music, vendors, food, and fun! Some Main Street businesses will remain open during the activities and may offer incentives for shoppers.
