Summer is coming, so it's time to mark your calendar for your Library's Summer Reading schedule. This year's theme is "Build a Better World."
Everything kicks off on Tuesday, June 6, at 1 p.m. with a petting zoo. Spend time with ponies, puppies, kittens, bunnies, reptiles, frogs, turtles and more. Face painting and green-screen photographs will also be available.
All summer reading activities begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday of each week.
June 9 will be "Bubble Soccer" at the High School Band Field; June 13 participants get to be mad scientists (just don't make your Library explode!). On June 20 participants learn unique ways to recycle, and the Dairy Farmers of Tuscarawas visit on June 27. Learn about taekwondo on July 11. July 18 is a special day of kindness and root beer floats! And summer reading finishes with a pool party at Cy Young Park on Aug. 1.
Taste the World returns on Friday, June 23 from 11-3 p.m. or when the food runs out. Drop in to taste recipes from around the world. This year you can savor the taste of the Philippines, Taiwan, and more. Copies of your favorites will be available.
A free summer lunch will be served at the Library's Annex from 11 a.m. 1 p.m. Monday through Friday throughout the summer months.
