A tentative schedule, subject to change, has been announced for the 2017 Cy Young Festival.

The featured player this year is Jack McDowell, former All-Star pitcher in the American League. McDowell pitched for the Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians and Anaheim Angels. He has a career record of 127-87 with an earned run average of 3.85 and 1,311 strike-outs. A three-time All-Star with the White Sox, McDowell posted a record of 13-9 in 30 starts with the Indians in 1996.

The tentative schedule includes:

Friday, June 23

5 p.m. -- Opening with Honor Guard and Mayor Pat Cadle on stage on Canal Street

5:15 p.m. -- Crowning of the 2017 Queen

5:30 p.m. -- Basket Auction. First basket is signed by Jack McDowell. Variety show will begin immediately after auction.

8-11 p.m. -- Fastlane Band

Saturday, June 24

8 a.m. -- Cy Young Run at Cy Young Park

9 a.m. -- Baseball Clinic with Jeff Tabaka, formerly a pitcher with the Houston Astros.

Noon -- Luncheon with Jack McDowell; rides and vendors open for business

2 p.m. -- Queen's reception at St. Paul Lutheran Church

4 p.m. -- Line up for parade on Oak Street by the high school

6 p.m. -- Parade begins

7 p.m. -- Autograph session with Jack McDowell at Olde Main Street Museum; New Towne Cloggers in front of the stage on Canal Street

8-11 p.m. -- Southern Rock Superstars

Sunday, June 25

11 a.m. -- Long Toss Competition at Cy Young Park

Noon -- Rides and vendors open

1 p.m. -- Car Show registration begins; Talent Show begins; Historical Baseball Games begin at Cy Young Park

3 p.m. -- Car Show registration ends, Car Show begins; Pet Show begins

5 p.m. -- Festival ends; Car Show awards handed out.
