The Newcomerstown Schools Lunch Program will be providing lunch once again this summer for area youths 18 and under. Lunches will be served at the Newcomerstown Public Library Annex now through Friday, Aug. 18. Lunch will be provided 11 a.m. to noon and a snack will be provided following lunch. Class of 1962
The Newcomerstown Class of 1962 will have a reunion Aug. 12-13. Details are to be announced.
Beginning Monday, June 5, SR 751 will be closed between Adams Township Road 248 and Coshocton County Road 2 while ODOT crews work on replacing a culvert. Crews will work from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., however, the road will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the project. The project is expected to be completed by Friday, June 9, at 4 p.m., weather permitting. For an alternate route, motorists can use US 36 to I-77.
The Tuscarawas County Beekeepers Association will meet Thursday, June 8, at 7 p.m. at the Winfield United Methodist Church, 5247 State Route 516, Dover. Paul Warstler, vice-president, will discuss "Blossoms for Bees."
Class of 1960
The Newcomerstown Class of 1960 will have a June luncheon on Wednesday, June 14, at noon at the Tents of Grace Cafe in Gnadenhutten.
A public meeting for a sewer extension in West Lafayette is scheduled for June 13, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Ridgewood Middle School Cafeteria.
Starting Monday, June 12, U.S. Route 250 will be restricted between Midvale and McCauley Drive for the installation of cable median rail. Lane closures are expected to take place Monday through Thursday and last approximately one month. However, no work will occur over the July 4th holiday. A minimum of one lane for traffic will be maintained in each direction during construction. This work is part of a districtwide guardrail rebuilding project, totaling $1.6 million with a March 31, 2018, completion date. ODOT's contractor is PDK Construction Inc., from Pomeroy, Ohio.
The Norma Johnson Center will host a "Family Fishing Day" event on June 24, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Registration will take place from 9-9:30 a.m. The event will take place at the pond located behind the yellow pole barn, SR 39. This event is a free event open to the public but families must register during the specified time listed above. If you do not own a fishing pole and still would like to participate call the office to make arrangements. The event will be cancelled if it rains and rescheduled for a later date.
