Willie and Doris Gardner, of Sugarcreek, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with an open house on Sunday, July 23.

Hosting the open house are their daughters and sons-in-law, Linda (Jim) Karcher of Dover and Gail (Steve) Maag of Berlin. Four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great- grandchild complete the family.

The former Doris Wingeier and Willie Gardner were married July 26, 1947, by Rev. Milton G. Pentzold. Doris is the daughter of the late Walter and Maude Wingeier of Baltic. Willie's parents are the late Lewis and Mary Masters and the late Harry Gardner.

Doris is retired from Baltic IGA and Willie retired from Andreas Furniture at Sugarcreek. They are members of numerous organizations and are faithful members of St. John's Lutheran Church in Baltic.

The open house will be at the Smith Community Center (former Baltic American Legion) in Baltic on July 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. All are welcome to come and share stories from the past and visit with friends and family. No gifts, please.
