PORT WASHINGTON -- Meeting recently, the Village of Port Washington Council agreed to pursue the purchase of a new piece of equipment.

Council gave thumbs up to proceeding with the United States Department of Agriculture grant and loan application for the purchasing of a "Bobcat" for use by the village Street Department.

The total application amount is estimated at $38,000. The village would receive a $20,000 grant for the Bobcat. The village would then receive a USDA loan for the remaining $18,000 of the purchase price.

In other action, council heard the first reading for Resolution 14-2017 approving the sale of the 2007 Dodge Charger police cruiser.

The hot water heater in the firehouse was replaced.

Council is slated to next meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 1.
