Newcomerstown retired elementary, middle and high school teachers, all support staff, and former teachers of Newcomerstown schools are meeting at the Tents of Grace in Gnadenhutten on Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 9 a.m. for a breakfast reunion. This is the fifth year and organizers would like to see some new faces at this reunion. All retired Newcomerstown employees are invited and encouraged to attend. St. Peter's Church on Oldtown Valley Rd, New Philadelphia will hold its monthly Oldtown Feast & Fellowship Dinner on Thursday, Aug. 24, serving 4:30 p.m. and on. Great food and desserts. Everyone welcome, please join us! There is no charge for the dinners; however, if you feel the need, a free will offering will be accepted. All donations received are used for community mission work and the local food bank programs. Feast & Fellowship Dinners will be held the fourth Thursday each month January October.
Beginning Monday, Aug. 7, there will be a single lane closure on SR 621 in Coshocton County, just north of Township Road 191, while ODOT crews work on installing a culvert liner. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane, utilizing temporary traffic signals for the duration of the project. Crews will work from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This project is expected to be completed by Friday, Aug. 11, weather permitting.
TUSCARAWAS COUNTY Sections of U.S. Route 36 and 250 are included in an upcoming spot paving project set to begin Monday, Aug. 14. Paving work will take place on U.S. 36 at Newcomerstown and on small sections of U.S. 36 and U.S. 250 at Uhrichsville. Spot paving will also take place on multiple state routes in Belmont, Columbiana Harrison, and Jefferson counties as part of this $757,000 project. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.
