After 11 years as director of Journey's End Ministries, Janet Gore is stepping down but will remain as a volunteer as manager of the clothing area.

The board has hired Pastor Matthew Leonard as director to begin Sept. 1. Matt has been with JEM for over a year and set up and monitors its Facebook page as well as establishing the "Journey's End Moment" heard on WNHS, the local radio station.

Under Janet's leadership Journey's End went from offering a box of groceries once a month to families in a 10 mile radius to serving anyone in need once a week with a cart of food. In 2006 JEM served 1,572 families consisting of 4,877 people and spent $26,700 on 62,000 pounds of food. In 2016 JEM served 30,202 families,104,467 people, and spent $51,800 to buy 1,730,491 pounds of food. In clothing and other items JEM went from rationing clothing and giving out 89,000 items to currently giving away about 350,000 items each year. Janet also oversaw the purchase of two trucks and two forklifts and an addition to the building as well as new flooring throughout the building.

JEM is in its 20th year and continues to need the financial support and prayers of the community during this time of transition.
