Journey's End Ministries in Newcomerstown offers a great service to people in the community and outlying areas but some people are taking advantage of the services by leaving items that cannot be accepted.
"As with all businesses and organizations, operating costs are a factor for what we are able to provide," said Journey's End Ministries in a press release. "Numerous times we are left to deal with items left in our donation drop-off, that we are not able to accept."
As a result, Journey's End must have the Dumpster emptied several times a week and the cost takes away from being able to assist in other areas such as food items.
Journey's End accepts all clothing; shoes; toys; kitchen gadgets; small electrics like toasters and blenders; dishes; towels; bedding, etc.
Journey's End cannot accept furniture, beds, mattresses, tires, and large items such as exercise equipment.
"Our floor has limited space and we have no room for large items," said Janet Gore. "What is donated should be clean and in good condition and ready to go to the floor."
Items in poor condition will be discarded creating additional trash costs.
