The Kimbolton United Methodist Church will have its monthly breakfast Saturday, Aug. 19 from 8-11 a.m. The public is welcome. There is no cost. Donations are accepted.
The Indian Valley Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Board of Education Office.
Ohio Retired Teacher's Association (ORTA) has issued an "ORTA Day" at Roscoe Village on Wednesday, Aug. 16, to enjoy an outing. Members may pick up a goody bag at the Visitor Center. Rates will be reduced for the Canal Boat Ride and other discounts will be given. The regular meeting will be Aug. 23 at 11 p.m. at Mr. Lee's Restaurant. New retirees are always welcome. Jan Navicky will speak on the subject of Dyslexia. Reservations are not necessary.
Interstate 77 traffic will be stopped briefly in both directions Wednesday night, Aug. 16, between the New Philadelphia and Dover Exits for utility work. Around 7 p.m., the AEP Transmission Company, from Gahanna, will be installing an aerial transmission line crossing over the highway.
Traffic will be stopped in both directions for no more than 15 minutes. However, motorists are urged to use caution and plan ahead to avoid delays.
Additionally, AEP will be stopping traffic on State Route 39 Wednesday afternoon, Aug.16, near County Road 21 at the New Philadelphia Interchange to also install an aerial transmission line there. Minimal impacts are expected; this work is expected to take less than 15 minutes.
Starting around 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, the northbound travel lane of Interstate 77 will be closed just south of Newcomerstown for bridge repairs.
ODOT's maintenance crew will be making deck repairs on two bridges one over State Route 258 and the other over the Tuscarawas River.
One northbound lane will remain open to traffic, and southbound lanes will not be affected.
The northbound travel lane will be reopened by 8 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16.
Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 15, Stanley Miller Construction will begin working on a culvert rehabilitation on SR 621 between County Road 200 and County Road 406. While work is being completed, intermittent daytime lane closures with flaggers may occur.
This project is estimated to be complete on Oct. 15.
