WEST LAFAYETTE -- Ants the size of kittens rode on the First Baptist Church Float for the West Lafayette Homecoming Parade. Children blowing bubbles, opossums hanging from the tree and adults enjoying a picnic found them receiving First Place in the Senior Division with Picnic in the Park With God's Creation as their theme. Ambitious walkers distributed candy and fliers inviting children to DVBS and Awana while Pastor Jim Evans and others waved to the crowd.
Daily Vacation Bible School was held last week with a huge castle built in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of West Lafayette. The theme was "Over the Moat." Children had to cross the draw bridge to hear the Bible lesson each night. It was well attended and the children collected money to buy a goat for Samaritan's Purse Ministry.
