The first Gateway to Fall Festival sponsored by the Thomas R. Little Community Fund is scheduled for Aug. 19 in Newcomerstown.

Recently, a group of Newcomerstown citizens came together with a vision to expand the outreach of the foundation to benefit even more people. The goal is to raise money that will stay in the community to directly benefit residents of Newcomerstown.

The funds will be used to provide scholarships for local students, provide assistance for local families in need and award grants for projects and organizations that benefit the community.

"Please join us," said festival organizers. "It will be a day of fun, a celebration of the spirit of our people and our town and an opportunity to raise money for a great cause -- our community."

The Thomas R. Little Community Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has been scholarships to local graduates since 2003.
