TUSCARAWAS COUNTY – Work is expected to begin Tuesday, Sept. 5, on a project to extend the pavement life on five miles of State Route 416 from Tuscarawas to New Philadelphia. As a preservation strategy, State Route 416 will be microsurfaced to seal the pavement, making it last longer.
Utilizing aggressive preservation treatments, such as chip seal and microsurfacing, lowers costs over the long term, enabling ODOT to resurface more roads and provide a smoother ride for more people.
Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. ODOT’s contractor for this $649,000 project is Ny-Mac Enterprises, Inc., from Lansing, Michigan, and the completion date is Sept. 30.
