Edmond and Dorothy Gibson, Newcomerstown, are celebrating 45 years of marriage.

The couple was married on Sunday, Sept. 24, 1972, at North Salem Community Church by the late Rev. Irville Baker.

Edmond and Dorothy have three children, sons Christopher (Sally) Gibson and Benjamin (Angela) Gibson, both of Newcomerstown; a daughter, Angela (Samuel) Maple of West Lafayette. Edmond and Dorothy have six grandchildren, Zachary, Thurman, Kayla, Kimberly, Melanie and Kristen Gibson; and a step-grandson, Tyler Maple.

Edmond works at the "Smokers Friendly" store in Newcomerstown. Dorothy retired from Avon Products Company in Janesville and does seasonal work at Tastee Apple Company in Newcomerstown. Edmond retired two years ago from Youth League Baseball after nearly 50 years involvement.

The couple’s youngest granddaughter, Kristen, will be 11 on her birthday, which is the day before Edmond’s and Dorothy’s anniversary.
