TUSCARAWAS COUNTY — A Boliver man was killed in a one-vehicle accident on a Tuscarawas County road early Saturday morning less than a day after a New Philadelphia woman died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash on Route 800 Friday night.

Billy E. Sickels, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident on County Road 82 south of Zoar following the crash at approximately 5:16 a.m. Saturday, according to the New Philadelphia post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Sickels was traveling south on County Road 82 (Dover-Zoar Road) when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting the driver. Sickels reportedly became trapped under the 2003 Honda Pilot, suffering fatal injuries.

Sickels was not utilizing safety belts.

Sickels was reportedly pronounced dead by the Tuscarawas County coroner.

On Friday, Mackenzie M. Dipiero, 23, was riding on a 2002 Honda CBR600 driven by Dakota A. Demattio, 24, who was southbound on Route 800 at 8:46 p.m. when the motorcycle traveled off the left side of the road and overturned, ejecting both riders.

The motorcycle then struck a guardrail.

Both Dipiero and Demattio taken to Mercy Medical Center in Canton, where Dipiero died as the result of her injuries. Demattio reportedly suffered serious injuries.

Both had been wearing helmets when the crash occurred. The patrol said alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash.

Both accidents remained under investigation by the highway patrol.
