'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

But wait! A mouse is stirring - because Santa missed his house last year. Before you can say "Merry Christmas," we're off on the wild adventures of a mouse, an elf, and a spunky little girl who just won't take no for an answer.

ARTSNCT is pleased to announce that it has been granted the rights to present Ken Ludwig's ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas as its first holiday production.

The show is a grand Christmas adventure, filled with schemes, confrontations, mistaken identities, bravery, and all things naughty and nice.

As reviewed by The Washington Post, "A momentum and ebullience worthy of the Pixar era animate this world-premiere play, whose story line involves a heist, a duel with rapiers, some hip-hop, a squirt gun, a perilous airplane flight and an elf’s stint as a secret agent. … Such a playful spirit romps through 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, you might think the show itself was a product of Santa’s workshop."

The family-friendly show is set to launch the holiday season in Newcomerstown and be performed on the stage of the River of Life Community Center at Christ United Methodist Church.

Performance dates are Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m., and a Sunday matinee, Dec.3 at 1 p.m. All ticket prices are $5.

Michael Wise will direct the ARTSNCT production that will mark the debut of its own theatre group, called Not Your Average Theatre Group, and feature special guest star, Santa Claus.

Auditions are open to the community and will be held Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m.

The critically acclaimed play is being produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, New York. It was originally commissioned by Adventure Theatre, Glen Echo, MD with Michael J. Bobbitt as Producing Artistic Director.

This journey is an exciting one that we guarantee you and your children will love.

You won't want to miss this joyful tribute to the holiday season.
