WEST LAFAYETTE — Despite dropping the opening set, the visiting Buckeye Trail Lady Warriors won the next three to pick up an Inter-Valley Conference victory over Ridgewood on Tuesday.
The Lady Generals (8-9) won the first game 25-20, but the Lady Warriors (13-3) responded quickly winning the next three sets by scores of 25-11, 25-22 and 25-8.
For the Lady Generals, Cassie Mladek tallied nine points, four kills and a pair of aces while Morgan Mattis slammed six kills and Jaelyn McGee added five. Sydney Zinkon handed out 15 assists in the loss.
Defensively, Abbey Kellish paced the defense with 21 digs and four blocks while Rylee Young posted 20 digs and Carly Griffith added 14.
NEWCOMERSTOWN — Visiting Indian Valley High rolled to a three-set sweep of Newcomerstown in Inter-Valley Conference action, winning by 25-9, 25-9 and 25-18 scores on Thursday.
Stat leaders for the Lady Braves (15-4, 9-2 IVC) included Reagan Love with 17 points and 15 assists; Payton Guspyt with 12 points and 10 digs; Kitanna Rakestraw with 10 kills, seven blocks and three points; Kayla Tschudy with eight kills and four blocks; and Brenlyn Rostad with 14 points and four digs.
UHRICHSVILLE — Ridgewood High dropped a three-set match at Claymont in Inter-Valley Conference volleyball action.
Cassie Mladek led the Lady Generals with nine kills, five blocks and four points while Aleeah Cabot had 15 assists, six digs and three kills. Other stat leaders were Sydney Zinkon with 11 assists; Carly Griffith with 11 digs; Alexis Griffith with seven digs; Morgan Matis with six points (two aces); Abbey Kellish with six kills and Jaelyn McGee with three blocks.
COSHOCTON — Host Coshocton swept the visiting Newcomerstown Lady Trojans Saturday in a non-conference match by scores of 25-23, 25-15 and 25-15.
For Newcomerstown Taylor Lafferty and Sydni Zufelt each scored seven points with Lafferty also handing out 13 assists. On defense, Maddie Fish led the way with 11 digs with Madison Shisler adding 10 digs.
