Correction

In a story in The Newcomerstown News dated Oct. 4, it was noted that a Clow property was owned by George Brode. In fact, the property is owned by a corporation known as the Bridge Street Development Corporation. The News regrets the error.

Hog Roast

The annual Community Hog Roast sponsored by Light in the Valley Ministries is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at 101 West Canal Street in Newcomerstown.

The menu will include pulled pork, baked beans, cheesy potatoes, corn, desserts and beverages. There will be food, fun, fellowship and crafts.

Retirement luncheon

The Kurz-Kasch retirement luncheon is set for Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 11:30 a.m. at April's Country Kitch'n.

Lava eruption

Bring kids up to age 18 to enjoy the Lava Eruption and Nacho Bar at AWANA at the Chili Crossroads Bible Church on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 6:30 p.m. Adults and teens get "Big Stuff from the Minor Prophets" in FaithTalks Bible Study. Revival

A Newcomerstown Community Revival with special guest Pastor Josue Santiago will be Oct. 22 to 25. Everyone is welcome.

Services will be:

• Sunday, Oct. 22, 6 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church River of Life Center, 648 Oak St. Newcomerstown.

• Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 23-24, 7 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church River of Life Center, 648 Oak St. Newcomerstown.

• Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. at Victory Assembly of God, 311 S. College St., Newcomerstown.

Spaghetti Supper

Calvary United Methodist Church, at the corner of State Street and Heller Drive, will hold a spaghetti supper on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. The church is handicapped accessible and the supper is open to the public.

Class of 1960

The Newcomerstown High School Class of 1960 will meet at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at Allison’s Fine Diner, located at 11587 Upper Gitchrist Rd., Mt. Vernon, Ohio 43050.

Tire cleanup

Newcomerstown Mayor Pat Cadle reported the Tuscarawas County Health Department is sponsoring a tire cleanup day at the Newcomerstown Street Department on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon. It is a free drop off for only Tuscarawas County residents. You must provide a valid photo ID and disclose the origin location of the tires. No tractor tires will be accepted. There is no limit and there will be assistance there. There will be a one-way entrance from State Street to the Street Department and exit from beside the Fire House to S. College Street. There will be two containers available. When these containers are full, the acceptance of tires will be ended no matter what time it is.

Benefit Concert

A benefit concert for Harley and Marianne Dakin will be Sunday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. at Everal’s Chapel. Chestnut Hill will provide musical entertainment.
