Numbers 6:24-26 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: the LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: the LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

When I read this my first thought was that it is exactly what I would want for my church family. God told Moses to have Aaron bless the children of Israel in this way. I believe it’s a blessing fit for God’s children today.

To ask God to bless my family is something I can do. I want Him to keep you, shine His face on you; to be gracious and give you peace. Though this scripture does no mention it specifically I would ask Him to add a life filled with love and a joy that the world will never know. Maybe I could ask for much health or happiness. I’m sure there is one who needs added strength, stronger faith, courage or wisdom. I would not ask for wealth or material things, but I would ask Him to shine His light in your life; a light that will never go out or even grow dim. In the light we could see opportunities to serve and ways to minister to a brother or sister.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make His face shine upon you, be gracious to you, lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace.

It’s truly a joy to know the blessings of the Lord.
