Buckeye Career Center recently named Levi Kilpatrick, a senior from Newcomerstown, as its male "Student of the Month."

Kilpatrick is enrolled in the Commercial Truck Technology program and currently interns and works at MJK Electrical. He interns with the company in the morning and attends his lab in the afternoon each weekday. Levi plays basketball and golf at Newcomerstown High School and was a member of the 2017 district qualifying golf team. He is a member of UCF and volunteers for the Newcomerstown bitty ball program.

Levi is currently attempting to land a seat in an apprenticeship program with Ohio CAT, which would allow him to work for CAT and continue his schooling after high school graduation. Levi’s instructor, Chris Rufenacht, said, "Levi has been a great asset to our program. Levi is self-motivated, goal oriented and brings great ideas to our program. He is willing to help the other students at any time. Levi’s internship allows him to learn electrical design and contracting. He is passionate about learning our career, eager to succeed in electrical troubleshooting, and possibly pursuing a career in power generation."

Levi will be honored at the December Board of Education meeting and received lunch from Supt. Matt Fockler.
