I was reminded recently of a story I heard many years ago about Heaven.

It seems there was a plantation owner who had died and after the funeral family and friends had gathered at his home to pay their final respects. A group of men were discussing whether or not the man had gone to Heaven when an elderly gentleman overheard the conversation and told the men that the deceased had in fact not gone to Heaven. When asked how he knew this to be true he assured them he had worked on the plantation for many years and he said, "I never knew of him to go anywhere that he never talked a lot about it first and I never heard him mention Heaven so I know he did not go there."

Mark 5:19 reads, Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

Then in Psalms 107:2 I find these words, Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

These verses remind me that I am to talk about Heaven, the place where I will spend eternity. God truly did redeem my soul, saving me from the hand of the enemy. He has done many marvelous things in my life. He has had compassion on me. I need to tell others what God has done for me, and assure them that for this reason when my life here is ended I will go immediately to spend eternity in Heaven with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I must tell them too, of how they can be sure to join me there. Heaven is surely real and I must talk about it now while there is still opportunity.

It’s a blessing to tell all who will listen of my coming trip to Heaven, the place I call home.
