Cy Young meeting

The next Cy Young Days festival meeting will be Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Dick’s Place in Newcomerstown. Anyone interested in helping is invited to attend. Stay up to date by checking the website, or on Facebook.


There will be a homemade spaghetti dinner from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, at the Newcomerstown Masonic Center, 235 N. Bridge St. The meal also includes hot garlic bread, salad, dessert and beverage. Baseball sign up

Roast Beef Dinner

PORT WASHINGTON — St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, at the corner of High and Arch streets, will have a roast beef dinner from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17. The menu includes slow-cooked roast beef, baked potato, green beans, salad, roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $12, adults; $5, children 6-12; free, children 5 and under. Batting practice

Cy Young Youth Baseball League will host a boys indoor batting practice with Newcomerstown High School Coach Robb Hendershot every Sunday. Pony League and Little League will practice from 2-3 p.m. and Minor League and Coach Pitch will practice from 3-4 p.m. The practices will be at the W.M. Brode Building on Heller Drive.

The Newcomerstown High School Class of 1956 will meet Feb. 8 at Tents of Grace Restaurant in Gnadenhutten at noon.

Isleta United Methodist Church is taking spring flower orders through March 4: flats of 36 annuals for $13.25; 5" pots of specialty plants for $3.50; 10" hanging baskets for $14.00; and 1 gallon pot perennials for $7.75. Sweetheart Dance

COSHOCTON — The Lake Park Pavilion, 23253 State Route 83, will be the setting Feb. 10 from 8 to 11 p.m. for a Sweetheart Dance. Heavenly Dogs

St. James Lutheran Church Men will host their fifth annual "Heavenly Hot Dogs and More" at the church, 215 Church St., Tuscarawas, each Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the end of March. The event is a warm meal of a sandwich, soup, dessert and beverage. Carry-out is available. Free-will donations are accepted to cover the cost of the meal and any extra proceeds will go toward projects by the men’s group.
