Bowl for Kids Sake
The 2018 Bowl for Kids Sake will be Saturday, March 3, with a breakfast from 7:30-10:30 a.m. before bowling starts at Cy Young Lanes in Newcomerstown. The menu is sausage, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, French toast, sausage gravy on biscuits, milk, coffee and orange juice. The donation is $10 per person. The event is open for everyone, even if they do not want to bowl.
The Newcomerstown Lions Club annual Carnation Sale is under way. The carnations are $15 per dozen or $23 per dozen for mail orders. The order deadline is Wednesday, March 14, and the carnations will be delivered Saturday, March 24. To order, call 740-498-5406.
Roast Beef Dinner
PORT WASHINGTON — St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, at the corner of High and Arch streets, will have a roast beef dinner from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17. The menu includes slow-cooked roast beef, baked potato, green beans, salad, roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $12, adults; $5, children 6-12; free, children 5 and under. Advance tickets available from church members. Dine in or carry-out.
Cy Young Youth Baseball League will host a boys indoor batting practice with Newcomerstown High School Coach Robb Hendershot every Sunday. Pony League and Little League will practice from 2-3 p.m. and Minor League and Coach Pitch will practice from 3-4 p.m. The practices will be at the W.M. Brode Building on Heller Drive.

The Newcomerstown High School Class of 1957 will hold its March luncheon at The Main Street Grill in Newcomerstown at noon.

Isleta United Methodist Church is taking spring flower orders through March 4: flats of 36 annuals for $13.25; 5" pots of specialty plants for $3.50; 10" hanging baskets for $14.00; and 1 gallon pot perennials for $7.75. There is a huge list of flowers available from the grower, Molesky Greenhouse of Alliance. Flowers can be picked up Sat. May 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. St. James Lutheran Church Men will host their fifth annual "Heavenly Hot Dogs and More" at the church, 215 Church St., Tuscarawas, each Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the end of March. The event is a warm meal of a sandwich, soup, dessert and beverage. Carry-out is available. Free-will donations are accepted to cover the cost of the meal and any extra proceeds will go toward projects by the men’s group.
