Over the past year, Trinity Hospital Twin City (THTC) of 819 North First Street, Dennison, gained new leadership, expanded its health service offerings in the Newcomerstown area, added one new medical provider to its hospital-owned Trinity Medical Group, and earned National recognition for quality of care.
Near the end of 2017, Trinity Health System (located in Steubenville) announced that Teresa Gagliardi had accepted leadership of Trinity Hospital Twin City in the position of Vice President of Hospital Operations and Site Administrator. Gagliardi had been serving as the hospital’s Interim President and Clinical Nursing Officer/Director of Patient Operations since June 2017, when former hospital president Joseph Mitchell stepped down to accept a hospital leadership position in Louisiana.
Gagliardi has a Master of Science in Nursing and has been a registered nurse for over 30 years. Additionally, she has extensive management experience, having served as manager of Trinity Health System’s behavioral health department, women’s health services, medical/surgical services, wound clinic, and diabetes education services prior to joining Trinity Hospital Twin City to serve as Clinical Nursing Officer/Director of Patient Operations for the past six years.
"I am excited to continue my career with Trinity Hospital Twin City and Trinity Health System," noted Gagliardi. "I will continue to work diligently with our dedicated medical providers and staff to ensure that our hospital can continue to strengthen and grow to meet our community’s healthcare needs."
Also in 2017, Trinity Hospital Twin City increased its ability to care for Newcomerstown area residents by continuing to offer a day of walk-in lab testing at its Newcomerstown Trinity Medical Group (TMG) office located at 232 Cross Street. To make it easier for those who live and work in the Newcomerstown area to obtain access to lab testing, the Newcomerstown TMG office hosts walk-in (no appointment needed) lab testing between 9 am and 2 pm every Thursday. To receive a lab test, those who have a doctor or medical provider’s order can simply bring the order and walk-in to have their blood tests. Most insurances are accepted, including Medicare and Medicaid. The certified lab testing services are provided by Trinity Hospital Twin City’s experienced laboratory services staff. Most insurances are accepted, including Medicare and Medicaid. Lab test results are provided to each patient’s medical provider. The hospital also added a walk-in lab testing location at its Coshocton TMG offices at 435 Walnut Street, Suite 2. The Coshocton lab services are available Monday-Thursday from 8 am to 1 pm.
To meet the need for greater availability of medical providers in the Newcomerstown area, Sarah Smith, MSN, CNP, joined the Trinity Medical Group staff in 2016 and has been working with Dr. Stuart Brown at the 232 Cross Street office. Smith is a nurse practitioner specializing in family medicine. Trinity Medical Group also recently added Angela Simmerman, Certified Nurse Practitioner, to its Uhrichsville pediatric offices located at 204 East Third Street. Simmerman is a board certified family nurse practitioner. In addition to the new Trinity Medical Group providers and new walk-in lab testing site at Coshocton, Trinity Hospital Twin City was also fortunate to be recognized and accredited by The Joint Commission, the gold standard of quality for healthcare organizations. The Joint Commission conducted a rigorous, unannounced on-site survey of the hospital and the medical group in October, 2017 to ensure that the organization is maintaining care processes for patients that are safe and meet high quality standards. During the survey review, The Joint Commission’s team of experts evaluated the hospital’s compliance with standards related to several areas, including emergency management, environment of care/safety, infection prevention and control, leadership, and medication management. The surveyors reviewed the hospital based on the same high standards they use to evaluate large hospitals, and they awarded Trinity Hospital Twin City their Gold Seal of Approval ®.
"Our ability to maintain our Joint Commission accreditation is a validation and tribute to the hard work our medical providers and staff do every day to provide the best care for every patient who walks through our doors," noted Gagliardi. "The Gold Seal of Approval ® is a symbol of quality that accurately reflects our hospital’s ongoing commitment to provide safe and effective patient care."
