On Monday, April 16, the Newcomerstown Chamber of Commerce had its meeting at Newcomerstown Middle School, where members enjoyed presentations by several NMS students who participated in the Middle School Career Shadowing program. The program is part of the Community Connectors Grant, promoting leadership and careers. This year, under the direction of Mrs. Marilyn Kramer, students traveled to nine area businesses, learning about their operations, the education or training needed for each career and the significance of drugs in the workplace. Students learned about each business by being asked to solve a problem that the business was experiencing. The students toured each business, asked questions and then presented their solutions at the end of the day. Participating businesses were The Hampton Inn, Baker's IGA, Century National Bank, The Newcomerstown Mayor's Office, Bliss Veterinary Clinic, 5th Day Aqua, Darr Farms, Boltaron and Jones Metal.
