Newcomerstown Middle School officials congratulated two sixth grade teachers, Mrs. Tara Supers and Mrs. Angela Decaminda, for being awarded the 2018 AEP Teacher Vision Grant.

Paul Prater from AEP traveled to NMS to present the $800 check to Mrs. Supers and Mrs. Decaminada on April 18.

This money will be used to enhance student learning for energy night and hands on activities in the science classroom.

The Energy Night invitation is for approximately 250 students at NMS. Students and parents will receive energy kits valued at $70 to install in their homes, and a family installation survey will be completed. Through energy night, students, parents, staff, and community members can obtain more information on how to reduce their energy costs in their homes and be more energy efficient in the future.

In addition, wall coasters will be purchased to facilitate force, motion, and gravity, and "dropper poppers" will be utilized to teach about elastic potential energy and gravitational potential energy.

School officials said, "NMS is so very proud to have teachers such as these two, who go over and above on a daily basis for our students!"
