The Newcomerstown High School Baccalaureate is scheduled at St Paul Lutheran Church on May 20 at 2 p.m.
Dr. Marian Harding is a 1984 graduate of Newcomerstown High School and an Associate Professor of Nursing at Kent State Tuscarawas. Aside from teaching, her past experience includes working as a Staff Adult Nurse Practitioner, Staff Nurse, Clinical Nurse, Nurse Assistant and Director of Wellness at facilities in Ohio, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
Dr. Harding earned a Ph.D. in Nursing from West Virginia University in 2013. She has a Post-Master’s Certificate in Nursing Education from Kent State University and a Master of Science in Nursing (Adult Nurse Practitioner) from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ohio University and her diploma from Mt. Carmel School of Nursing.
She is listed as an author for nearly two dozen publications appearing in professional journals such as Clinical Journal for Oncology Nursing, Nurse Educator, and The Nurse Practitioner and is on the editorial board for Teaching and Learning in Nursing. She has authored two textbooks and numerous textbook chapters and is the editor for Medical Surgical Nursing: Assessment and Management of Clinical Practice. Dr. Harding has presented her research and delivered professional presentations at nearly 40 events in 14 different states. She has presented across the United States, from Nevada to New York and Michigan to Florida!
Dr. Harding currently holds membership in several professional organizations, including the Ohio League for Nursing and National League for Nursing and is part of the nursing advisory panel for the Ohio Board of Regents.
She lives in Newcomerstown and is married to Jeff Harding. She has two daughters, Kate and Sarah Montgomery.
